Jasper Handmade Wood Tables
$4,400.00 – $6,650.00
Jasper handmade wood tables are distinguished by their precise and honest craftsmanship. These refectory tables celebrate craftsmanship through exposed joinery, embracing age-old tradition and modern minimalism.
Trestle or refectory dining tables have a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. The Jasper from Lloyd Brooke Furniture embodies this timeless design. Historically favoured by royalty and nobility, these tables were fixtures in castles, churches, and now, modern homes.
I love refectory style tables for both their aesthetic appeal and practicality. The design, with its legs set back from the table’s edge, pairs beautifully with booth seating or snug dining areas. We have a smallish dining space and this is exactly the reason the Jasper dining table is our family dining table of choice.
That being said, I can build these tables large if you are looking for a piece to fulfill a more dramatic role.
There is a little bit of a Japanese influence here with the uncomplicated lines and through joinery.
Another useful aspect of this piece is that, though the frame is glued up, the top can be easily removed for ease of moving or should storing the piece become necessary.
A wood table handmade by a craftsman. A substantial through mortise and tenon joint connects the trestle frames, resulting in a look that is both strong and elegant. Restrained tapers and angles ensure this traditionally styled piece complements both classic and modern settings.
